Mission

To address and combat antisemitism and foster a university culture that is inclusive, respectful, and grounded in open inquiry.

About Us

In the aftermath of October 7, it is clear that universities fail to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students, staff, and faculty.

Antisemitism has publicly reemerged on college campuses, including Tufts.

Years of acceptance of a so-called anti-colonial liberationist ideology adopted by faculty and other university officials has suppressed public debate, and enforced high rates of self-censorship.

Tufts community members are not comfortable engaging in complicated discussions, and regularly express feelings of exclusion and vulnerability because of their Jewish identity, their Israeli national origins, and/or their support for the existence of the state of Israel.

In response to these experiences, Tufts United Against Antisemitism (TUAA) was formed as a coalition of more than 100 Tufts staff and faculty whose goal is to serve as a resource to advance efforts to address antisemitism at Tufts and, more broadly, to work with the entire Tufts community and its leadership to facilitate an environment that is inclusive, civil, open minded, and free of hate, and that promotes the university’s mission of unbiased and fearless research and teaching.
